Published during the Meiji era,BijutsukaiandShin Bijutsukaiare treasured collections featuring exquisite craft designs by various pattern designers, Japanese-style painters, and talented artisans whose names may have been lost to time. These beautifully crafted books showcase the art of multicolor woodblock printing and were published by Unsodo, a distinguished Kyoto-based art publisher and the only house in Japan dedicated to producing hand-printed woodblock books.

The letter paper comes in 12 sheets, with four of each design: the Blue Pigeons design matching the Weeks, colorful successive waves, and a checkered pattern with chrysanthemums and bamboo fences. The set includes six glassine envelopes that reveal a glimpse of the papers patterns inside, and a sheet of stickers featuring six motifs drawn from the designs.
